Manchester United’s new recruit, Bruno Fernandes’ has replied to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Instagram Workout challenge, and CR7 isn’t very impressed at Bruno Fernandes’ reaction, and took the time to troll his Portugal team-mate on Tuesday.
Over the weekend, Ronaldo had challenged fans to take part in a ‘core crusher’ workout, showing that he could do an impressive 142 reps in just 45 seconds.
Fernandes managed 117 reps in his attempt, writing: ‘#NikeLivingRoomCup – Week One. 117 Abs in 45 seconds. Not bad for a Sunday…’
However, Ronaldo replied on his own Instagram story saying: ‘train your arms instead!’
Fernandes has taken English football by storm since arriving at Manchester United, but that didn’t stop the former Red Devil Ronaldo from poking a little fun.
Ronaldo is known for his gruelling workouts, and the 35-year-old often shows off his impressive physique to his 211million Instagram followers.
The Nike Living Room Cup challenge is an initiative being promoted by sports stars in order to encourage exercising indoors during the coronavirus crisis. “The Living Room Cup” is a digital workout series that “offers a new space to compete against Nike pro athletes through weekly fitness challenges.”
Meanwhile, fellow Portuguese footballer and Nike athlete Diogo Dalot has also taken on the challenge, in which you lie on your back with your legs in the air and repeatedly touch your toes. The United defender fell short of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s total, crunching 105 reps within the time limit.
Ronaldo’s total was beaten though, with South African runner Caster Semenya pulling off 176 reps. She had a little joke of her own for the Juventus man, saying Ronaldo had ‘tried his best.’
Ronaldo could be set for a sensational return to his former club Real Madrid, with Juventus reportedly open to a £50million offer for the forward.
