Aubameyang brace inspires Arsenal to a comfortable win over Newcastle

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang-Mohamed Elneny-Arsenal

Arsenal picked up a 3-0 win over Newcastle United in the Premier League earlier tonight.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the opening goal of the game five minutes into the second half and Arsenal doubled their advantage through Bukayo Saka ten minutes later.

Aubameyang wrapped up the scoring on the 77th minute for Arsenal to secure all three points for Mikel Arteta’s side.

The Gunners have been quite underwhelming this season overall and Arteta will be pleased with his team’s performance tonight.

The win takes Arsenal up to 10th in the League table with 27 points from 19 matches and they will be hoping to close in on the top four in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile Newcastle United continue their dreadful run of form and the defeat leaves them 15th in the League table with just 19 points from 18 League games.

Steve Bruce will be under enormous pressure to turn it around in the coming weeks and it remains to be seen whether Newcastle can bounce back strongly.

Arsenal were dominant from start to finish and they deserved to pick up a comfortable win tonight. The home side enjoyed 67% ball possession tonight.

Arteta will be delighted with the way his youngsters performed tonight. The likes of Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe were outstanding the Gunners.

Arsenal will now look to build on this and climb up the table by putting together a winning run in the second half of the season.
