Liverpool are thought to be keen on signing the Sevilla defender Diego Carlos.
The centre back has done well for the Spanish outfit and he would be a good fit for Jurgen Klopp’s side. The Reds need quality backups with the likes of Lovren expected to leave.
Carlos could replace the Croatian if he moves on.
The Spanish side value Carlos highly but they are considering a sale because of the financial crisis they are in.
Carlos has a release clause of £67m but Sevilla are willing to accept considerably less in order to move him on.
It will be interesting to see if the Reds make an offer for the player in the coming 2weeks.
Liverpool certainly have the finances to pull this off. Also, the player is likely to be tempted if the Reds come calling.
The chance to play in the Premier league is an alluring prospect and Liverpool are one of the best teams in the world.
Furthermore, they have a world class manager in Jurgen Klopp who can help Carlos improve as a player.
A move to Liverpool would be ideal for the Sevilla ace’s career right now.
As for the Reds, they should look to snap him up if the price is reasonable. The 27 year old is a good player who would improve Liverpool as a squad.
It will be interesting to see how much Sevilla demand for their prized asset.
