Brighton

Brighton will look to get their first win since Graham Potter left the club to be replaced by Roberto De when they host Chelsea on Saturday.

The hosts were beaten 3-1 by Manchester City last time out despite being the first club to win the possession battle against Pep Guardiola’s side this season. In a strong showing at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, Brighton gave the PL defending champions a run for their money but were undone by the brilliance of Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland.

While they will be proud of their performance, the Seagulls must start turning performances into results though, particularly after failing to score in each of their last two home league fixtures (D1, L1), including a frustrating 0-0 draw with Nottingham Forest

It gets even trickier for them considering that they have never beaten Chelsea in a league H2H anywhere. However, they have drawn two of the last three here (L1), which might offer some encouragement.

Possible Brighton starting line-up

Robert Sanchez; Joel Veltman, Lewis Dunk, Adam Webster; Solly March, Moises Caicedo, Alexis Mac Allister, Pervis Estupinan; Leandro Trossard, Pascal Groß; Danny Welbeck.

Injured: Jakub Moder, Kaoru Mitoma

Chelsea

After ending RB Salzburg’s 40-game unbeaten record at home in all competitions, Chelsea will look to continue their firm march under Graham Potter when they travel to Amex on Saturday.

The Blues defeated Salzburg 2-1 last Tuesday to secure passage into the next round of the UEFA Champions League as group winners courtesy of a fine strike by Kai Harvetz after Junior Adamu had equalised for the hosts.

The win extended the Londoner’s unbeaten start to life under Potter to nine games, making the manager the first Englishman since 1906/07 to start his Chelsea career.

He would like to extend that record at the expense of his former club but more importantly will be looking for his side’s first win in the league after back-to-back draws against Manchester United (1-1) and Brentford (0-0).

They come into this tie sitting in fifth place, but just two points behind Tottenham. And should they win by a good margin, they could find themselves spending the weekend in the top four, a feat that Potter will be glad to achieve after leading his former side, Brighton to the top four before his departure for Stamford Bridge last month.

Possible Chelsea starting line-up

Kepa Arrizabalaga; Trevoh Chalobah, Thiago Silva, Marc Cucurella; Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho, Ben Chilwell; Mason Mount, Raheem Sterling, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Injured: Ngolo Kante, Wesley Fofana, Reece James, Kalidou Koulibaly
