Southgate flattered by Spurs interest

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a host of new managers in recent weeks, and the latest name linked with the move to the London club is that of the England manager Gareth Southgate.

According to reports, the England manager is thought to be flattered by the interest from the Premier League side, but he will not walk away from the national team job.

It will be interesting to see if Southgate is sacked by the FA following the Euros. That is the only way he would join a club this summer.

Tottenham are eager to appoint a new manager by the end of the season, and they have already been turned down by the likes of Julian Nagelsmann, Jesse Marsch and Erik ten Hag.

Even the likes of Brendan Rodgers are on their shortlist, and the Leicester City manager is not keen on switching clubs this summer.

It remains to be seen whether they can convince Southgate to take over from Ryan Mason at the end of this season.

The former Tottenham midfielder is currently the interim boss at the Premier League club.

Spurs sacked Jose Mourinho earlier this season after a series of poor results, and they will have to get the next appointment spot on.

The Londoners need someone who will bring fresh ideas into the club and add a distinct style of play to the team.

Tottenham are loaded with talented players, and with a couple of right additions, they could easily challenge the top teams in the Premier League next season.

It will be interesting to see how their managerial hunt unfolds over the coming weeks now.

Hansi Flick open to the Spurs job

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick is thought to be interested in the Premier League job, but the Londoners are yet to reciprocate that interest.

The manager has been linked to the German national team job as well, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Flick has helped Bayern Munich win every trophy at the club level, and he could prove to be a sensational appointment for the London club next season.

He has already announced his departure from the Bavarian club at the end of this season.
