Carlo Ancelotti - Everton Manager

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has heaped praise on Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa, labelling the Argentine’s style of play as “attractive”.

The two managers will square up against on Saturday as Bielsa travels with his Leeds team to Goodison Park to face an Everton side sitting in sixth place.

Ahead of the game, Carlo Ancelotti has spoken in glowing terms about Bielsa and his style of play.

The enigmatic Argentine who made the FIFA 2020 Men’s Coach of The Year nominees list after guiding his side to Championship glory and bringing them back to the Premier League for the first time in 16 years is seen as an inspiration in the game.

And now Ancelotti, who has never faced the Argentine before in his career, has offered his thoughts on the man.

In an exclusive interview with Skysports, the Everton man admitted to being attracted to Bielsa’s style of play.

“I’ve never met him personally, but I’m really attracted to the style of play of his teams,” Ancelotti told Skysports.

“When he was at Athletic Bilbao, it was the same. I love his style of football, and I would love to spend time with him when it’s possible to talk about football.”

Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s match, the Italian said: “Leeds is a team that is a dynamic team.”

“It is going to be an open match, I think with a lot of intensity.

“The Bielsa teams are teams like Leeds, teams that keep a high intensity in the game, but with the ball and without the ball and we are going to expect this kind of game.”

Everton will be looking to continue their impressive start to the season that has seen them win five of their opening games.
