Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing the Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni during the summer transfer window.

According to a report from Football London, the Blues are one of the clubs interested in signing the 21-year-old.

Tchouameni has been outstanding for Monaco over the past year, and the 21-year-old has recently been crowned as the Ligue 1 young player of the year.

According to French football expert Jonathan Johnson, the youngster could be the ideal long term successor for the Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante.

Johnson believes that Tchouameni is more than just a defensive midfielder, and he could contribute further up the pitch as well.

It will be interesting to see if the Blues can secure the signature of the 21-year-old at the end of the season.

Apparently, Liverpool and Manchester United are keen on signing the young Frenchman as well, and the Blues will have to move quickly to secure his services at the end of this season the day.

Tchouameni has the potential to develop into a world-class player, and a move to Stamford Bridge could help unlock his potential.

Thomas Tuchel has proven himself to be a top-class coach who can nurture the 21-year-old and help him achieve his immense potential.

Chelsea certainly have the financial muscle to beat Liverpool and Manchester United to his signature. It remains to be seen how the situation evolves over the next few months.

The Blues signed Tiemoue Bakayoko for a similar role. Still, the midfielder struggled to live up to the expectations at Stamford Bridge, and it remains to be seen whether Tchouameni can develop into the player the Chelsea fans hoped Bakoyoko would be.
