Diogo Jota injury blow

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed another major injury blow for the Reds following his side’s 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion yesterday.

Apparently, Portuguese forward Diogo Jota has been ruled out of the season with a foot injury he sustained during the 4-2 win over Manchester United on Thursday night.

Jota has been quite useful for Liverpool since his return from injury, and his absence in the final two League games against Burnley and Crystal Palace will certainly be damaging to Liverpool Champions League hopes.

“No good thing without a bad thing – so, we won at Manchester United, but Diogo got something with the bone,” the manager said.

“Not too serious but serious enough to end the season. That’s it.”

The Reds must win their two remaining games in order to secure Champions League qualification for the next season. It will be interesting to see if the players can step up and get the job done in Jota’s absence.

Ozan Kabak unlikely to join permanently

Furthermore, the Reds are unlikely to trigger the permanent transfer option in Ozan Kabak‘s contract.

The young Turkish defender joined Liverpool on loan from Schalke during the January transfer window, and he has been quite impressive for the Premier League side so far.

Kabak is currently sidelined with an injury, and he’s unlikely to play again this season.

According to reports, the Reds are looking to send him back to the German club and move for other defensive targets in the summer.
