Crystal Palace are set to appoint the former Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira as their new manager.
According to The Athletic, the Premier League side have reached an agreement in principle with the former French international.
After the end of last season, Roy Hodgson was relieved of his duties, and Palace have been linked with several managers like Sean Dyche, Frank Lampard, Lucien Favre and Nuno Espirito Santo.
The Eagles will need a major rebuild this summer, and it will be interesting to see if Vieira is up for the challenge.
The Frenchman has managed at New York City (MLS outfit) and Nice (Ligue 1 outfit), but the step up to the Premier League could prove to be a challenging one for him.
The former Arsenal player is not very experienced manager, and it will be interesting to see how the 45-year-old copes with the challenges of English Premier League football.
He knows the league well from his time as a player at Arsenal but the managerial challenge a whole different one. Patrick Vieira has been previously linked with the likes of Bournemouth and Arsenal as well.
Crystal Palace had previously agreed on a deal with Nuno Espirito Santo to take over at Selhurst Park this summer. Still, the former Wolverhampton Wanderers manager altered the terms of the deal later on, and Crystal Palace were forced to break off talks.
Furthermore, the London side had an agreement with Lucien Favre as well, but the Swiss manager changed his mind at the last moment.
