Everton 1-3 Manchester City: Guardiola’s side go 10 points clear at the top with win

Phil Foden-Manchester City

Manchester City picked up a 3-1 win over Everton away from home in the Premier League earlier tonight.

Phil Foden scored the opening goal of the game on the 32nd minute and second-half goals from Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva sealed a vital win for the League leaders.

Guardiola’s side are now 10 points clear at the top of the table and their firm favourites to go all the way and win the title this season.

Foden opened the scoring with a deflected effort thanks to Seamus Coleman but Everton came back into the game just five minutes later through Richarlison who converted from close range after Lucas Digne hit the crossbar.

Mahrez restored his team’s advantage with a stunning goal that flew in off the far post. Silva completed the scoring with a powerful left-footed effort beyond Jordan Pickford.

City have now picked up 17 consecutive wins in all competitions there are 10 points clear of Manchester United, who are in second place with 46 points.

Meanwhile, Everton are seventh in the League table with 37 points and they will take on Liverpool in the Merseyside derby at the weekend.

Manchester City take on Arsenal in their next outing and they are full of confidence and momentum right now.

Everton were the underdogs heading into this game and Ancelotti cannot have too many complaints about the result. City were comfortably the better side and they outplayed the Toffees with ease.
