David Luiz-Arsenal

The Summer transfer window was closed on Tuesday, meaning that the clubs won’t be allowed to buy any new players until January unless they are free agents.

Here are the top free agents who are on the lookout for a new club.

David Luiz

The Brazilian defender’s contract at Arsenal expired in the summer but he is yet to find a new club. Lazio and Benfica have shown interest in David Luiz, who also believes he can perform at the highest level for one more season in Europe.

Franck Ribery

The Bayern Munich legend, Franck Ribery is also without a club after his two-season spell at Fiorentina ended in the summer. There is plenty of interest inside Italy including AC Milan.

Ben Arfa

Hatem Ben Arfa’s career decline is like no other despite being considered a bright prospect during his formative years. The former Newcastle United man is now a free agent after representing Bordeaux last season. Marseille are said to be one of the interested parties.

Serge Aurier

Serge Aurier has had his contract terminated by Tottenham Hotspur on the deadline day. The decision was made after Spurs signed Emerson Royal from Barcelona. The likes of Real Betis, Watford, Spartak Moscow and Genoa have shown interest in Aurier, who feels he can thrive in Europe’s top clubs.

Jack Wilshere

The former Arsenal star is struggling to find a new club after recently ending his short spell with Bournemouth. The 29-year-old is currently training with Serie B club Como, who couldn’t register him due to the presence of a non-EU passport.

Sergio Romero

Romero’s frustrating six-year spell at Manchester United came to an end in the summer and he is now available for free. The Argentine was interested in a move to Everton to enjoy more game time in the past but the Red Devils stood in his way.

Rafael

The former Manchester United star left Super Lig outfit Istanbul Basaksehir by mutual consent recently and he is on the lookout for a new club. The 31-year-old has also stated his desire to return to the Premier League.

Javier Pastore

The Argentine midfielder and former PSG star, Javier Pastore has cut ties with AS Roma after three years. Pastore still has plenty of football left in him and could be impactful for less-competent sides.

Daniel Sturridge

The former Liverpool star has been without a club for more than a year after spending the 2019/20 season at Turkish club Trabzonspor.

Andy Carroll

The English striker is currently available as a free agent after being released by Newcastle United. His speculated move to Reading FC fell through on the deadline day.
