James Rodriguez opens up about his situation at Everton, draws similarities with Aguero

Like life, nothing is certain in football. The Colombian playmaker James Rodriguez is now taking solace in the situation Sergio Aguero finds himself in after the Barcelona transfer.

Everton midfielder James Rodriguez has now compared his situation at the club to that of Sergio Aguero at Barcelona.

The Colombian international revealed that Aguero joined Barcelona to play alongside Lionel Messi, but the 34-year-old is now closing in on a move to Paris Saint Germain.

Similarly, he wanted to work with Carlo Ancelotti when he decided to move to Goodison Park, and now the Italian is managing Real Madrid.

He said: “Kun Aguero went to Barcelona, and now Messi is leaving. They just happen to be little breadsticks, partners.

“Those are the things that football has. The same thing happened to me. I go to Everton, practically because Ancelotti was there and look, now Carlo is gone.

“I don’t know what is going to happen. In football and in life, we don’t know anything. Let’s see what happens.”

“All I know is that I’m training hard, preparing well. That’s it, that’s the most important thing.

“You have to think about the present, and the present is that I’m here, and I’m training hard and physically well for everything that’s coming.”

The former Real Madrid midfielder has been linked with a move away from the Premier League this summer, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

A move to the Italian league has been mentioned in recent weeks.

The player has been informed that he is not a key part of Rafael Benitez’s plans at Goodison Park, and he is free to leave if a suitable offer comes in.

Rodriguez made an impressive start to life in the Premier League last year, but he struggled with motivation and injuries as the season went on.

It is clear that the player is distracted right now, and he is not keen on staying at the Merseyside club.

It will be interesting to see if Everton can get the unhappy player off their books and bring in someone who is ready to commit himself to the cause.
