Leicester 2-0 Chelsea: Ndidi, Maddison help Leicester to climb to the top of the table

Leicester City picked up a 2-0 win over Chelsea in the Premier League earlier tonight.

The Foxes were in supreme form and they managed to outplay Frank Lampard’s men without any problems.

Wilfred Ndidi scored a stunning goal six minutes into the game to give the home side their lead and Leicester City wrapped up the scoring five minutes before half time through James Maddison.

Chelsea struggled to cope with Leicester City’s sharpness and intensity throughout the game and it will be interesting to see how they bounce back from this situation now.

Frank Lampard was already under tremendous pressure after having spent more than 200 million during the summer transfer window and the former Chelsea midfielder is probably on the brink of losing his job now.

The defeat tonight leaves Chelsea eight in the League table with 29 points and Leicester City have now managed to secure their place at the top of the Premier League with 38 points from 19 matches.

Leicester could have easily increased their advantage but the likes of James Justin failed to hit the target with a free header and Youri Tielemans was denied by Mendy around the hour mark.

Chelsea had a goal disallowed for offside after Timo Werner scored late on. The Blues were also awarded a penalty in the first half after Jonny Evans fouled Christian pulisic but it was overturned after a VAR review.
