Sevilla gatecrash into the top four with a 2-1 win over Alaves, as En-Nesyri, Suso score

Suso-Sevilla

Sevilla have picked up a 2-1 win over Deportivo Alaves in the Spanish League earlier tonight.

The away side went ahead 3 minutes into the game when Youssef En-Nesyri found the back of the net from a drilled cross into the six-yard box by Jesus Navas.

Deportivo got back into the game on the 12th minute through Edgar Mendez but the hosts failed to hold on to the scoreline and conceded once again in the first half.

Joan Jordan set up Suso for the winner on the 30th minute of the game.

Sevilla managed to hold onto the advantage in the second half and grind out all three points in the end.

They were the better team heading into the game and they have now managed to break into the top four of the Spanish League table with 33 points from 18 matches.

Meanwhile, Deportivo are 17th in the League table after losing four of their last six League games and they will have to improve quickly in order to steer clear of relegation.

The home side were in atrocious form heading into this game and it is hardly surprising that they have come away empty-handed.

They will have to improve defensively if they want to beat the drop. Deportivo have conceded 25 goals in 19 League matches.

Meanwhile, Sevilla are now just one point behind Barcelona and four points behind champions Real Madrid. They will be hoping to close the gap in the coming weeks by putting together a winning run now.

They needed to win tonight’s game after the defeat against Atletico Madrid and the fans will be pleased with the way their team have bounced back.
