Lazio picked up a stunning 3-0 win over Roma in the city derby earlier tonight.
Ciro Immobile scored the opening goal of the game on the 14th minute and Lazio doubled their advantage on the 23rd minute through Luis Alberto.
The Spaniard scored again in the second half in the 67th minute to seal the three points for Lazio.
The win tonight takes Lazio up to 7th in the Italian League table with 31 points. Meanwhile, Roma are now third with 34 points.
Lazio are in a great position to close in on the Champions League places and they will be hoping to build on this result and put together a winning run now.
Lazio were dominant from start to finish and the deserved to pick up all three points. The home side went ahead through Immobile who capitalised on a poor error from Roger Ibanez to score his 12th League goal of the season.
Luis Alberto scored either side of half time with two excellent finishes to inflict Roma’s first defeat in five League games.
It will be interesting to see how the visitors bounce back from this. The fans would have expected a better performance in the Derby game and Roma will have to make amends.
Roma could have closed the gap with the two Milan clubs with a win tonight and it would have sent out a proper statement in the title race.
