Liverpool figure out three possible replacements for Wijnaldum including Bundesliga midfielder

Georginio Wijnaldum-Sadio Mane-Liverpool

Wijanaldum is likely to leave Anfield on a free transfer this summer.

Liverpool are already looking for a life without Georginio Wijnaldum as they have identified three possible replacements for the soon-to-become free agent.

Wijnaldum has his contract expiring this summer and the Reds are said to have failed to agree on a new deal, with the midfielder himself wanting a new challenge outside the Premier League.

Barcelona have been monitoring the situation of the 29-year-old since last summer however Serie A giants Inter Milan look to have won the race for his signature.

The Merseyside outfit has drawn up a three-man shortlist as the alternatives for Wijnaldum which consists of Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar, Gladbach’s Florian Neuhaus and Brighton prospect Yves Bissouma.

Aouar is not new to the Premier League links as he was close to joining Arsenal last summer before the North Londoners opted to sign Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid on the deadline day of the transfer window.

Aouar continues to be impressive for Lyon, who are third in Ligue 1 and are facing a tight battle with PSG and LOSC Lille for the title.

The 22-year-old has also been watched by Juventus and Real Madrid.

Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus is another player Jurgen Klopp wants to bring to Anfield.

The German youngster has been excellent for Marco Rose’s side this season and is cited as one of the talented young midfielders in Bundesliga. No wonder Bayern Munich are keen on his signing.

The Reds are also not hesitant to explore the options within the Premier League and Brighton’s highly-rated Yves Bissouma is another potential target.

Liverpool’s midfield needs rework this summer as the current crop of players has been underwhelming this season including Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara.
