Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign the highly talented Bayer Leverkusen attacker Kai Havertz.
According to SkySports, the 21 year old is all set to join the Blues in the coming week now. He will be a club record signing for Frank Lampard’s side and Chelsea will pay around 100 million euros for the player including add-ons.
The German international is expected to sign a five year deal with the Premier League giants and it will be interesting to see how he performs in England next season. Havertz will be under pressure to deliver instantly because of the outlay on him. It remains to be seen if he can adapt immediately.
Havertz will add goals and creativity to Chelsea’s attack. The 21 year old scored 18 goals for Bayer Leverkusen last season and he managed to pick up eight as well. With the likes of Pedro and Willian leaving this summer, Chelsea needed someone to create chances for the likes of Werner. Havertz could be the ideal addition for them next season. Him and Ziyech will add creativity, goals and flair to Lampard’s attack.
The versatile German can play anywhere across the front three and in the midfield as well. His versatility will give Lampard some much needed tactical flexibility as well. It will be interesting to see his role next season. Chelsea have improved their attack with the signings of Ziyech and Werner already and Havertz will complete a whole new attacking trio for the Premier League side.
