Liverpool join Aouar race

Liverpool have reportedly joined the race to sign the French international midfielder Houssem Aouar.

The 23-year-old is expected to leave Lyon this summer, and the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with him as well.

Jurgen Klopp needs to bring in a quality long term replacement for Gini Wijnaldum, and Aouar could prove to be a smart acquisition.

Although the French midfielder is more of a creative player, he could complement Thiago and Fabinho perfectly next season.

It will be interesting to see if the Reds can fend off the competition from their Premier League rivals and secure the Frenchman’s services in the coming weeks.

Aouar is valued at around €20-25 million this summer. It seems like a reasonable price for a player of his ability.

Tottenham plotting Ndombele-Aouar swap

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur are determined to sign the player as well, and they are prepared to sacrifice Tanguy Ndombele to land him.

The Premier League side have offered Lyon the chance to re-sign Ndombele in a swap deal for Aouar, and the two clubs are currently in talks to sort out a summer transfer.

Ndombele has not been able to live up to the expectations since his move to the London club, and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the next few weeks.
