How Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham First-Eleven could look after new signings

Jose Mourinho has improved his squad significantly this summer and Tottenham will be expected to fight for a top-four finish this year.

The Londoners signed the likes of Hojbjerg and Doherty from their Premier League rivals to strengthen their defence and midfield early on in the window. They have added an experienced back up to their goalkeeping department in the form of Joe Hart as well in order to compensate for the loss of Michel Vorm.

Now they are closing in on the signings of Sergio Reguilon and Gareth Bale from Real Madrid. The 23-year-old left-back joins on a permanent deal and Bale will return to the club on a loan deal. The 31-year-old had fallen out of favour at Santiago Bernabeu and he needed to leave in order to play regular first-team football.

With five new signings already at the club, it will be interesting to see how Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham shapes up this summer.

The Londoners have impressive depth in the midfield and attack now. If they can add a quality centre back to replace Jan Vertonghen, it could complete their squad.

Here at Anytime Football, we look at how Jose Mourinho’s side could look this season once all the signings have settled in.

Defence

Mourinho’s defence more or less picks itself with the two new full-backs replacing Aurier and Davies. Sanchez and Alderweireld are the undoubted starters as centre backs. Tanganga and Foyth could be their backups.

Midfield

As far as the midfield is concerned, Lo Celso, Ndombele and Hojbjerg are the most talented midfielders at the club right now and the likes of Alli, Sissoko and Winks could partner them depending upon the tactics and the opposition. Alli and Sissoko could add some aggression and drive when needed and Winks is more of a controller.

Forward

Harry Kane and Gareth Bale are probably the undisputed starters for Tottenham given their status in world football and it will be interesting to see who flanks them to complete the attacking trio. Heung-Min Son, Steven Bergwijn, Lucas Moura and Erik Lamela can all play that role and Mourinho will be delighted with the options at his disposal.
