Liverpool remain keen on the German forward Timo Werner this summer.

As per Le 10 Sport, Jurgen Klopp wants to bring him to Anfield and he has spoken to the player personally a number of times over the phone.

Werner is one of the best young forwards in the game right now and the interest in him is hardly a surprise. He would improve most teams in the Premier League.

Although Liverpool have a world class attacking trio, it can still be improved. Werner could do that.

The German can lead the line for the Reds next term and allow the likes of Firmino to drop deeper and play in their natural role.

That would add more sharpness and goals to Liverpool’s world class attack.

It will be interesting to see if the Reds are willing to trigger his release clause in the coming weeks.

Werner could be signed for a set fee of €60m this summer.

Liverpool certainly have the means to afford that in a normal market. But the current transfer market has been affected badly by the financial impact of the current health crisis.

Big money deals will be harder to complete and Liverpool might decide to wait another season before making a move for Werner.

The German is thought to be keen on a move to Liverpool and it will be interesting to see if he gets his wish.

Werner has 27 goals to his name so far this season and he has 88 in his last four seasons. He is a proven goalscorer who would add a cutting edge to Jurgen Klopp’s juggernaut.
