Manchester City have agreed on a deal to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.
The club have confirmed on their official website that a deal has been agreed in principle, and the transfer remains subject to the club finalising personal terms with the player.
The Norwegian international will join the Premier League club on the first of July.
Haaland had a £51m release clause in his contract, and the Premier League giants have decided to trigger it. Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund have signed Karim Adeyemi from RB Salzburg as the Norwegian’s replacement.
Haaland has already established himself as a world-class goal scorer, and there is no doubt that he’s going to improve further with experience and game time.
A world-class manager like Pep Guardiola will only help him to realise his tremendous potential, and the signing could prove to be a major bargain in the long run.
Manchester City recently sold Ferran Torres to Barcelona, and they will be delighted to have replaced him with the Dortmund striker.
Manchester City have also agreed on a deal to sign Julian Alvarez from River Plate, and the South American is set to join up with his new teammate this summer as well.
The Premier League giants needed to sign a reliable goalscorer, and Haaland should prove to be a tremendous acquisition for them.
The likes of Phil Foden and Raheem Sterling have had to operate as strikers at times this season, and having a clinical finisher like Haaland upfront will improve Manchester City immensely next year.
The Premier League giants have fallen short of winning the Champions League in recent seasons, and they will be hoping that the arrival of Erling Haaland can help them go all the way in Europe next year.
