Manchester City

Premier League defending champions Man City will look to continue their impressive winning run in the league when they welcome Leeds United to the Etihad.

The Cityzens defeated ten-man Wolves in their last league outing, thanks to a controversial penalty by Raheem Sterling – his 100th Premier League goal. Despite the nature of the win, Pep Guardiola’s side will not care.

They come into this tie sitting on top of the league table, one point ahead of Liverpool and two ahead of Chelsea. A win in this game will see them maintain their grip at the top while any slip-ups will offer the chasing pack an opportunity to overtake; something Guardiola will be desperate to avoid.

The Catalan comes up against his mentor for the fifth time in his career. In those five meetings, he has won twice, drawn twice and lost once.

Possible Manchester City starting line-ups

Ederson; Kyle Walker, John Stones, Ruben Dias, Joao Cancelo; Rodri, Ilkay Gundogan, Kevin De Bruyne; Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus, Bernardo Silva.

Injured: Liam Delap, Ferran Torres

Doubtful: None

Suspended: Benjamin Mendy

Leeds United

Leeds United will look to bounce back from a disappointing loss to Chelsea last timeout when they travel to Manchester this Tuesday.

The Lilly Whites put up a big fight against Chelsea in their last game but eventually fell to a 3-2 defeat thanks to a late Jorginho penalty. The result extended their wait for a second away win to another game and was also their away loss of the season.

Now they travel for a second successive away trip to one of England’s top four teams of last season, looking to pull off a miracle akin to the one that saw them leave this ground with a 2-1 win last April.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side are currently sitting in 15th place, just five points ahead of Burnley in 18th. Their hopes of becoming just the fifth-ever PL side to complete successive 38-game seasons of top-half finishes after promotion remains high. But they must cut down on defensive errors and pick up wins more regularly.

With the season nearing its halfway stage, Bielsa will be desperate for his side to win this game and keep their chances of survival high.

Possible Leeds United starting line-ups

Illan Meslier; Stuart Dallas, Luke Ayling, Diego Llorente, Junior Firpo; Jack Harrison, Adam Forshaw, Jamie Shackleton; Tyler Roberts, Daniel James, Raphinha.

Injured: Patrick Bamford, Liam Cooper, Kalvin Phillips, Rodrigo

Doubtful: Pascal Struijk, Robin Koch

Suspended: None
