The Magpies are reportedly scouring the Serie A market after PIF’s takeover.

Newcastle United have created a huge buzz following the £305m takeover by Saudi Arabian consortium PIF.

The Magpies have been off to a terrible start to the new season but are feeling confident they can change their fortunes around with the help of the takeover.

According to The Sun, Newcastle have identified five potential targets from Serie A that includes Juventus winger Federico Chiesa, who is also on the radar of Manchester United.

Chiesa enjoyed a stellar Euro 2020 campaign with the Italian national team, who eventually defeated England in the finals to lift the trophy.

Henceforth, the 23-year-old has drawn interest from Europe’s top clubs including Man Utd, who are keen on attacking reinforcements.

The Magpies are also monitoring the situation of Chiesa’s club partner Matthijs de Ligt, who turns out to be a top target for Chelsea.

The Dutch centre-back reportedly holds a release clause worth €150m which will be active from next summer.

Newcastle are also looking to raid AC Milan and Inter for Franck Kessie, Stefan de Vrij and Marcelo Brozovic.

Kessie turns out to be a top target for many clubs in Europe since his contract runs out next summer.

Man Utd, Liverpool and Barcelona have been linked with the 24-year-old, who has been cited as one of the best young midfielders in Serie A.

Inter duo De Vrig and Brozovic are also on the wishlist of Newcastle, with the latter also being wanted by Manchester United.
