The Croatian international has penned a new five-year contract with Hammers.

West Ham United have signed Nikola Vlasic from CSKA Moscow on the deadline day of the summer transfer window.

Hammers have agreed to a transfer fee worth £25.7m plus 7.7m add-ons, with the contract running until 2026.

Hammers were keen on signing Jesse Lingard from Premier League giants Manchester United after the attacking midfielder excelled during the last season’s loan spell.

After coming to know that the Red Devils wouldn’t listen to the offers for Lingard, West Ham turned their attention to Vlasic.

The 23-year-old had a forgetful spell at Everton during the 2017/18 season before he managed to recapture his form in the Russian top-flight.

Vlasic has been delivering the goods for CSKA Moscow over the last few seasons, excelling as one of the finest attacking midfielders. He has been a regular for the Croatian national team since 2017, making 26 appearances until now.

Hammers manager David Moyes also had high praise for the Croatian midfielder: “I am delighted to welcome Nikola to West Ham United. I have been watching Nikola improve over recent seasons – he has got a good goals and assists record during that time.

“He is also a Croatia international with experience and still being only 23, I feel there is more to come from him.

“I was really impressed with how determined Nikola was to become a West Ham player. It’s that hunger and ambition that fits with what we are trying to build here at the club.”
