Liverpool dealt massive injury blow as key star could be sidelined for several months

Jurgen Klopp reaction, after Liverpool won Premier League

Liverpool were dealt a double injury blow against Everton in the Merseyside derby yesterday.

Jordan Pickford’s horrendous tackle on Virgil van Dijk forced the Dutchman off the pitch 6 minutes into the game.

It will be interesting to see if the center back can return to action anytime soon.

According to reports the defender might have damaged his ACL and he could be out for 7 to 8 months.

Virgil van Dijk is the best defender in the world and losing him for the remainder of the season could seriously damage Liverpool’s chances of retaining the Premier League title.

Meanwhile summer signing Thiago Alcantara has picked up an injury as well.

Richarlison’s reckless tackle towards the end of the game could see the Spaniard sidelined for the next few months.

It will be interesting to see how Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp cope with these massive injury blows in the coming weeks now.

Liverpool must look to dip into the transfer market in January if Virgil van Dijk is sidelined for the rest of the season.

They have the options to cope without tyago for the next few weeks and it remains to be seen how long the Spaniard is ruled out for.

It is believed that Thiago’s injury is not as serious as Van Dijk.

Both players are expected to undergo a scan today to determine the true extent of their injuries.
