The Catalans have been held to 1-1 draw against Eibar at the Nou Camp.
Barca were awarded an early penalty after a foul on Ronald Araujo in the box. However, Martin Braithwaite failed to make use of the opportunity after firing his shot wide from the spot.
The Dane thought he had salvaged for his early mistake with a calm and composed finish before it was ruled out by VAR, who judged Braithwaite as offside.
Eibar stunned the hosts after going 1-0 in the 57th minute, with Kike finding the nets past Marc Andre ter Stegen. Araujo was at fault for the goal as the centre-back made a costly error by losing possession near the centre circle.
Dembele, who has been just brought from the bench, had a great chance to put the Catalans on level terms after Pedri fed him with a brilliant pass, however, the French man couldn’t make much of the opportunity.
Later, the French winger made it up for the missed opportunity by scoring the equaliser – this time he was spot on – as Firpo provided the assist.
Barca had a couple of good chances from Pedri and Trincao in the final quarter to turn around the things, however, none of them found the nets.
It would be a disappointing result for Ronald Koeman as he failed to build on from the impressive win against Real Valladolid. At the same time, the Dutch gaffer had no Lionel Messi on the bench to turn to as the Argentine was present in the stands.
