In recent weeks, Manchester United striker Anthony Martial has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford.

According to a report from Sky Sports, Spanish club Sevilla have now submitted an offer to sign the player on loan for the remainder of the season, where the Premier League giants have rejected the proposal.

Apparently, Sevilla were looking to pay half of the striker’s wages until the end of the season. Still, Manchester United will demand the player’s wages paid in full along with an upfront fee before sanctioning any loan deal.

The report further states that the Premier League giants are not keen on losing any players midway through the season. It will be interesting to see if Sevilla can convince them to sanction the loan deal by returning with a better offer.

Martial has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford, and he needs to leave the club in order to play regular first-team football.

A move to the Spanish club would have given him the fresh start he needs right now.

Martial has barely had a run in the side ever since the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo, and a player of his calibre deserves more opportunities.

Interim Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick recently revealed that the player has already informed him of his desire to leave Manchester United. It is understandable, given the amount of game time he has received this season.

It remains to be seen whether Manchester United are prepared to offer him more first-team opportunities in the coming weeks if he ends up staying at the club after the January transfer window.
