Rafa Benitez – a serious option for Everton
Everton are reportedly considering a move for former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez as they continue their search for a new manager.
The Toffees have a major task ahead to find a replacement for Carlo Ancelotti, who recently joined Real Madrid after spending one-and-a-half seasons at Goodison Park.
Now, the Toffees are looking at the possibility of hiring Benitez, who has been without a job since leaving the Chinese Super League club Dalian Professional.
The Spanish gaffer had managed Newcastle United between 2016 and 2019 and is understood to be eager on a return to the Premier League.
Benitez has achieved success with various clubs, but his stint with the Magpies turned out to be underwhelming.
Christophe Galtier could be available for £ 4.3m
Lille manager Christophe Galtier is understood to be one of the candidates for the vacant managerial job at Goodison Park.
Galtier, who led Lille to the Ligue 1 title, is unlikely to continue as the manager for the French side due to their financial crisis.
Nice are said to be in pole position to sign Galtier; however, their initial offer of £ 2.6m pounds has been denied by Lille.
The Ligue 1 winners are demanding a fee of £4.3m, which is affordable for the Toffees.
The Blues’ owner Farhad Moshiri would appreciate a cheaper yet effective option like Galtier.
Nuno Santo, who recently parted ways with Wolves, turns out to be another target, but Everton are finding it difficult to strike a deal.
