Tottenham Hotspur are yet to appoint a long term successor for Jose Mourinho, and they have been heavily linked with several managers in recent months.

The latest name linked with a move to the London club is that of the Brighton and Hove Albion manager Graham Potter.

According to reports, the London club have held positive talks with Potter regarding the managerial vacancy.

Potter has done an excellent job with the Seagulls, and he could prove to be a quality appointment for the Premier League side.

Although his arrival could be seen as an underwhelming appointment, he has the quality to manage a big club.

Brighton have played adventurous and purposeful football under his management, and there is no doubt that Potter is one of the most talented young English coaches around.

Tottenham need someone who can rebuild the side and transform them into a competitive outfit.

Potter has done a similar job at Brighton, and he could be a success at Tottenham given the time and backing in the transfer market.

Furthermore, he would be an inexpensive appointment for Daniel Levy as well, and it will be interesting to see if the Londoners can pull off the move.

Key players like Harry Kane have been linked with a move away from the London club this summer, and they must look to finalise the managerial appointment as soon as possible.

The new manager will need time to get the squad ready for the next season and convince the top players to stay at the club beyond this summer.
