Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Clement Lenglet from Barcelona this summer.

Apparently, the Premier League side have already opened talks to sign the player on loan this season.

Manager Antonio Conte remains an admirer of the player, and he is set to hold talks with the defender regarding the move to Tottenham as early as next week.

It is no secret that Tottenham will have to add more depth and quality to the side, and signing the 27-year-old on a loan deal could prove to be a wise decision.

The former Sevilla defender will add depth and quality to Antonio Conte’s backline and is unlikely to burn a hole in Tottenham’s pocket, given it is a loan deal.

The Londoners have already added some much-needed depth and quality to the squad with the signings of Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster and Yves Bissouma.

Meanwhile, a move to the Premier League could be ideal for the Barcelona player as well.

Lenglet was a squad player for the Spanish giants last season, and he started just 7 matches in the league for Barcelona.

The defender needs to play more often at this stage of his career, and Tottenham could provide him with that platform next season.

The two clubs are reportedly in advanced negotiations for the loan transfer of the defender, and it is a move that could benefit all parties. It remains to be seen whether an agreement is reached in the coming days now.

Tottenham signed Cristian Romero on loan from Atalanta last season, and the Argentine defender is set to join the club permanently this summer after impressing during his loan spell. Lenglet could be in a similar situation next summer.
