Liverpool continued their undefeated run in the Premier League this season after thrashing Watford 5-0.

Roberto Firmino rose to the occasion with a hat-trick while his strike partners Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane were also on target.

The win has taken the Reds to the top of the league table, and on the other hand, it was not the start Watford’s new manager Claudio Ranieri had been hoping for.

Firmino shines with a hat-trick

Roberto Firimino hasn’t been at his best and also wasn’t among the goals over the last two seasons. But the Brazilian centre-forward is coming to the fore this term, having already notched up 4 goals in 6 league games so far, including today’s hat trick against Watford. Firmino found himself in great goal scoring positions and hardly put a foot wrong. He will be hoping to combine a lot with his fellow forwards Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane for the rest of the season.

Salah recreates Man City magic

It is becoming a habit for Salah to rack up spellbinding performances week in and week out. Today, he replicated a similar kind of display he enjoyed against Manchester City before the international break. From the stunning assist to Mane’s first goal to scoring an outrageous solo goal – as he did against Man City, the Egyptian international showed he is one of the best players in the world at the moment.

A disappointing start for Claudio Ranieri

Claudio Ranieri replaced Xisco Munoz as the new Watford boss and the expectations were high on the Italian manager going into today’s game. However, the Golden Boys succumbed to a heavy defeat in front of their home crowd while putting up a lacklustre display. Watford are currently 15th in the table with 7 points and not far behind the relegation zone. Ranieri has a mountainous task ahead to get the Hornets back to winning ways.
