Manchester United update: Solskjaer confirms double injury blow, an attacker could return, Ismaila Sarr latest

Ole Gunnar Solskjær-Manchester United

Manchester United travel to Liverpool this weekend, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has delivered an injury boost to his side.

The Manchester United manager has confirmed that Anthony Martial could feature against Liverpool despite picking up an injury against Burnley.

The Frenchman has been a key player under Solskjaer, and he could make a big difference for Manchester United at the weekend.

Solskjaer has also confirmed that Manchester United will be without Phil Jones and Brandon Williams for the game and both players are ruled out with injuries.

He said: “I’m going to give everyone a chance, another day. Anthony is not out of it.

“I think the only ones that are certainly out it are Brandon and Phil Jones. They are the two that definitely cannot make the game. A couple of others may be doubts, but we’re hoping – fingers crossed.”

Manchester United are in impressive form heading into the game, and they will be hoping to pull off a morale-boosting win at Anfield and extend their lead at the top of the table.

They are currently three points clear of the Premier League champions, and they are unbeaten away from home in the Premier League this season.

Liverpool has a superb home record as well, and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top in a crunch encounter this Sunday.

Meanwhile, Manchester United target Ismaila Sarr is likely to cost around £35-40m according to reports. The Championship side are unwilling to open talks with his suitors for a lower fee.

Sarr has been linked with West Ham, Liverpool and Crystal Palace as well.
