PSG

Paris Saint-Germain bounced back from their disappointing 2-1 loss to Manchester City last Wednesday to beat St. Etienne 3-1 over the weekend. Two goals from Marquinhos and a strike from Ángel di María sealed the win for Pochettino’s side.

The win also gave them a 12 points lead ahead of second-placed Rennes with just 15 games played so far.

They come into this tie unbeaten in the league in their last six league games. But the hosts have shown that they cannot be trusted to keep their opponents at bay for 90 minutes. This is evident in their clean sheet record, which reads one clean sheet in their last ten games.

The return of Sergio Ramos is likely to change that and give PSG the backbone to do the damage in attack.

Nice

Nice’s quest for European football took a big hit last time out as they were beaten 1-0 by lowly Metz.

The loss was the visitors’ second in three games and pushed them one place down the table to third place.

Under title-winning boss Christophe Galtier, Nice have improved. They enter this round with eight wins from their opening 15 games.

The visitors will be desperate to pick up a win here and keep themselves within the top three. But a record of one clean sheet in eleven competitive games has them looking vulnerable to the hosts’ devastating attack that has already scored 35 goals this season.
