The 20-year-old has been impressive for Sweden in Euro 2020.

Real Madrid have reportedly joined the race with Arsenal for highly-rated Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak.

The 20-year-old has been impressive for Sweden in this year’s Euros, particularly in the draw against Spain.

However, the report also adds that La Real wouldn’t pay heed to any suitors unless they are willing to pay the striker’s staggering release clause of £59m.

Although Sociedad are planning to keep their prized asset next season, they could be forced to sell him if a lucrative offer arrives, with Premier League outfit Arsenal already registering an interest.

Isak is represented by Universal Sports Group Agency, which also represents Luka Modric, and Madrid is trying to take advantage of it.

The Swede striker moved to La Liga from Borussia Dortmund in 2019 and has since been impressive for Sociedad.

He played a key role in lifting the Copa del Rey title for the 19/20 season as he ended up as the tournament’s top scorer. Isak racked up a total of 17 goals and two assists in La Liga this season.

Carlo Ancelotti, who has become the new manager of Los Blancos, is scouring the marking for attacking reinforcements, especially a striker who can take the onus from ageing Karim Benzema.

Isak is understood to be ready to take the next big step of his career, and Madrid can reap the reward with his signing.

He is currently focused on helping Sweden in European Championship as they will face Ukraine in the round of 16.
