Arsenal grind out a 2-1 win over Rapid Wien on their travels

David Luiz-Arsenal

Arsenal picked up a 2-1 win over Rapid Wien the Europa League earlier today at Allianz Stadion.

The home side took the lead through Fountas on the 51st minute and it seemed like they were heading towards a memorable win against the Premier League giants.

However, the Gunners scored twice in 4 minutes turn the game on its head.

David Luiz scored the equalizer on the 70th minute and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang gave the Londoners their lead on the 74th minute.

Arsenal did well to hold on for a win in the end.

The Gunners have improved defensively since the appointment of Arteta and the improvement was evident tonight.

An Arsenal team of the past would have thrown away the lead but the Gunners did well to grind out the result tonight.

The Europa League is one of the best chances for Arsenal to win a trophy this season and it will be interesting to see if the Gunners can go on to lift the trophy next summer.

Arsenal will certainly be one of the favourites to lift the trophy this season and they certainly have the quality to win the competition.

If they can continue to defend well, they have the match winners to make a difference at the top end of the pitch.

The Gunners have already tasted success in the domestic cup competitions under Arteta and they will be keen to win something in Europe now.
