Cristiano Ronaldo had dedicated his return to Sir Alex Ferguson and revealed that his return ‘is a dream come true’.

The Portuguese international finally sealed his move to Manchester United after completing his medical in Lisbon, with the club unveiling him on Tuesday.

Ronaldo returns to Old Trafford 12 years after leaving and has vowed to write more history with the club that he ‘loves’.

After completing his move, Ronaldo shared his excitement on social media and promised to create more history at United. He also paid homage to the manager who first brought him to United—Alex Ferguson.

In the emotional message that was posted on his Instagram, Ronaldo wrote:

” Everyone who knows me, knows about my never-ending love for Manchester United.

“The years I spent in this club were absolutely amazing, and the path we’ve made together is written in gold letters in the history of this great and amazing institution.

“I can’t even start to explain my feelings right now, as I see my return to Old Trafford announced worldwide.

“It’s like a dream come true, after all the times that I went back to play against Man United, and even as an opponent, to have always felt such love and respect from the supporters in the stands.

“This is absolutely 100% the stuff that dreams are made of!

“My first domestic League, my first Cup, my first call to the Portuguese National team, my first Champions League, my first Golden Boot and my first Ballon d’Or. They were all born from this special connection between me and the Red Devils.

“History has been written in the past, and history will be written once again! You have my word!

“I’m right here! I’m back where I belong! Let’s make it happen once again!

“PS – Sir Alex, this one is for you…”

Alex Ferguson bought Ronaldo as a talented but raw 18-year-old from Sporting Lisbon in 2003. However, under his tutelage, Ronaldo became one of the best players in the Premier League era.

In his six years at the club, he scored 118 goals in 292 games on his way to winning three Premier League titles, one Champions League, an FA Cup title, two League Cups and the Club World Cup.

He will hope that his second-coming at the club will have as much impact as his first as United are not the club they were once under Ferguson. The Red Devils have not won a trophy under the current coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who will be under pressure now to deliver a trophy after the additions of Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphaël Varane this summer.
