The Sassuolo midfielder is set to pen a new five year deal with Juventus.

Juventus have reportedly reached an agreement worth €35m for the signing of Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelliclaims reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Romano added that the Italian midfielder would pen a new deal until 2026, and Juventus would soon make his announcement official.

Having chased the midfielder for some time, Juve managed to find a breakthrough in their contract talks with Sassuolo.

The Old Lady made Locatelli a top target following his successful back to back seasons in Serie A, in which he showcased his world-class abilities.

The 23-year-old gained further recognition after starring for the Italian national team, which recently lifted the Euro 2020.

Locatelli was seen as a bright talent during his formative years at AC Milan before he slumped due to lack of form.

However, the Azzurri international breathed new life into his career after completing a move to Sassuolo, and in no time, he has become one of the coveted players in Europe.

Juve would make Locatelli their first signing of the summer, and they have fended the likes of Arsenal to achieve it.

The Italian midfielder is expected to be a key figure in Max Allegri‘s project as Juve will look to return to supremacy after a disappointing last season.

The Old Lady are set to kick off the 2021/22 Serie A campaign against Udinese this Sunday.
