The Reds are keen on signing Harvey Barnes from King Power Stadium

Liverpool have been reportedly chasing Harvey Barnes for a while following his stunning season with Leicester City last term.

The 23-year-old has been a key player in the attack for Brendan Rodgers’ side over the last two seasons and his impressive form also gained him his first senior cap for the England national team last October.

The Reds have been showing interest in Barnes as they look to strengthen their attack by bringing new faces.

Jurgen Klopp is apparently looking for someone who can take the burden off the stars like Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

Barnes is seen as a top target but the Reds’ pursuit has hit a snag after recent reports are suggesting that the English forward is poised to sign a new deal until 2025.

Haaland tipped to join Reds by Michael Rummenigge

Former German footballer Michael Rummenigge has suggested that Dortmund sensation Erling Haaland can be a good fit for Liverpool.

The Norwegian striker is currently on the transfer agenda of Europe’s top clubs and could force a transfer war next summer.

Now, Rummenigge has backed Haaland to sign for the Merseyside outfit.

“We’ll have to wait and see where he goes after this season,” Rummenigge said.

“Real [Madrid] and Barcelona have financial problems, so I could imagine him moving to England. His father used to play there too. I could well imagine Liverpool for Haaland.”

Liverpool haven’t been credited with an interest in the 20-year-old thus far however they are keeping tabs on PSG ace Kylian Mbappe.
