Nedved says Ronaldo will stay at Juventus

Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo has been subject to exit speculations following his debacle with the Portuguese national team in Euro 2020.

The 2020/21 season also didn’t turn out well as the Old Lady failed to win Serie A and Champions League despite Ronaldo’s impressive goalscoring run, which saw him bag the top scorer of the league award.

With only one remaining in his current deal, the Bianconeri were said to be having second thoughts about presenting him with an extension, thus leading to his exit rumours. Ligue 1 giants PSG were posing as potential suitors if the former Real Madrid star would leave Allianz Stadium.

However, Juve vice president Pavel Nedved has now confirmed that Ronaldo will return to Turin on Monday and will continue beyond this summer.

Juve to begin contract talks with Dybala

Nedved also provided an optimistic update on Paulo Dybalas future, stating the club would soon meet with his agent to speed up the contract talks.

Dybala, like Ronaldo, has his contract expiring next summer, and there were uncertainties over his future after he fell down the pecking order of then manager Andrea Pirlo last season. Furthermore, the contract talks were also on and off, fuelling his exit speculation.

However, Max Allegri’s return has handed the Argentine a huge boost after reports emerged that Dybala would be central to the Italian manager’s plans next season.

Nedved also added that Allegri wants to play both Dybala and Ronaldo in the attack.

The 27-year-old flourished during Allegri’s previous tenures and also was the star performer under Maurizio Sarri before he lost his prominence last term under Pirlo.
