Koulibaly-Napoli

Napoli picked up a comfortable 2-0 win over Benevento in the Italian League earlier tonight.

Dries Mertens scored the opening goal of the game in the 34th minute and Matteo Politano completed the scoring in 66th minute for the home side.

Kalidou Koulibaly was sent off for Napoli on the 81st minute after picking up his second yellow of the game but Napoli managed to grind out all three points without any problem.

The win takes Napoli up to 6th in the table with 43 points from 23 matches and they have now managed to win three of their last five League games.

Napoli have been quite inconsistent in the recent weeks and they will have to improve a lot if they want to break into the top four this season.

The home side have lost three of their last six League games and the fans will be hoping for a better showing from them in the coming weeks. A team of their calibre should be doing much better.

As for Benevento, they are 16th in the Italian League table having failed to win any of their last six matches in the League.

They have 25 points and it will be interesting to see if they can beat relegation this season. They are not far away from a relegation battle and they will have to improve in the coming weeks.
