Timo Werner’s move to Chelsea has been delayed because of the Coronavirus crisis.
As per reports, the German striker is not being able to complete his medical with the Premier League giants.
The current restrictions do not allow him to fly to the UK for a medical and then return to Germany to complete the remaining games with Leipzig.
If he flies to another country, he will have to self isolate for a certain period and he won’t be available to play for Leipzig.
Therefore, the transfer will be completed once the Bundesliga is over.
Chelsea are expected to pay Werner’s £53m release clause in full.
They will also offer him a lucrative wage package if reports are to be believed.
It will be interesting to see how Werner performs in the Premier League next season. He has been outstanding for Leipzig this season.
Chelsea needed a reliable goalscorer like him and Lampard will be hoping to get the best out of him next year.
The Blues will be hoping to push for the title and they will need players like Werner in order to achieve that feat.
They have already signed the likes of Ziyech and have been linked with Chilwell and Havertz.
It will be interesting to see how many players they end up signing this summer.
