AC Milan

AC Milan will look to get their first win of the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League season when they welcome Dinamo Zagreb to the San Siro this Wednesday.

The Rossoneri played out a 1-1 draw with RB Salzburg in their opening fixture, with Alexis Saelemaekers putting the Italians back on level with the Austrian team having taken the lead courtesy of a goal from Noah Okafor.

Stefano Pioli’s men have been in fine form this season, winning four of the six games they have played in the Italian Serie A and are yet to taste defeat. Despite dropping points against Salzburg, the Rossoneri remain favourites to claim the top spot in a seemingly easy Group E, but the performance of the energetic Germans last Tuesday will remind the Italian Coach that his team will have to work hard if they are to make it to the next round.

AC Milan will come up against a Dinamo Zagreb team who shocked the football world by beating Chelsea 1-0 to go up the Group E table, ultimately leading to Thomas Tuchel’s sacking.

The Rossoneri are the better team on paper compared to the Croatians. Their record of two wins in their last two encounters would serve as further confidence for Pioli and his men as they chase their first win in the Champions League against a tricky opponent.

Possible AC Milan starting line-up

Mike Maignan; Davide Calabria, Simon Kjaer, Pierre Kalulu, Theo Hernandez; Tommaso Pobega, Sandro Tonali; Rafael Leao, Junior Messias, Charles De Ketelaere; Olivier Giroud.

Injured: Alessandro Florenzi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Doubtful: Divock Origi, Ante Rebic, Rade Krunic

Suspended: None

Dinamo Zagreb

Dinamo Zagreb stunned Chelsea to take a 1-0 lead inside 15 minutes in Croatia last week.

The Croatians executed their game plan against Thomas Tuchel’s side to perfection and held on to eke out a well-deserved victory over the Blues.

With nine wins in their last ten games in all competitions without tasting defeat, Dinamo Zagreb come into this game in good form, and after their heroics in game week one, their confidence will be at an all-time high. Head coach Ante Cacic will be hoping for another inspired performance from his boys when they travel to Italy.

Dinamo Zagreb have not been as dominant on the road as they are at home, the Croatians secured a place in the Group stages by beating Bodo/Glimt 4-1 at home after losing 1-0 to the Norwegians in Norway. However, with their win over Chelsea fresh on their minds, the Croatians will fancy their chances of leaving Milan with a positive result.

Possible Dinamo Zagreb starting line-up

Dominik Livakovic; Stefan Ristovski, Bosko Sutalo, Dino Peric, Robert Ljubicic; Luke Ivanusec, Arijan Ademi, Martin Baturina; Mislav Oršić, Dario Spikic, Bruno Petkovic.
