Clubs across Europe will return to UEFA Champions League action this week and some of them will be desperate to secure their place in the knockout rounds of the competition.
The likes of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are in serious danger of crashing out of the competition and it remains to be seen whether the likes of Xavi Hernandez and Diego Simeone can guide their side to the next round of the competition.
Atletico Madrid are currently fighting out with the likes of Porto and AC Milan for the second qualification spot behind Liverpool in Group B.
The Spanish giants are third in the standings, one point adrift of Porto and level on points with bottom-placed AC Milan.
All three clubs have a genuine chance of making it to the knockout rounds and Atletico will be under pressure to secure a win over Porto in their final group game.
# | Team | M | W | D | L | GF | GA | GD | PTS |
1 | Liverpool (Qualified) | 5 | 5 | 0 | 0 | 15 | 5 | 10 | 15 |
2 | Porto | 5 | 1 | 2 | 2 | 3 | 8 | −5 | 5 |
3 | Milan | 5 | 1 | 1 | 3 | 5 | 7 | −2 | 4 |
4 | Atlético Madrid | 5 | 1 | 1 | 3 | 4 | 7 | −3 | 4 |
They will also be hoping that Liverpool can do them a favour and beat AC Milan.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have managed to win all five group games so far and their place in the knockout rounds has already been secured. If the German decides to rest his key players for the final group game against Milan, it could give the Italian giants a huge advantage and a massive chance to secure a win in the final group game and overtake Atletico Madrid in the standings.
Meanwhile, Barcelona are second in their group behind Bayern Munich and they have a tricky final group game ahead of them.

4 | Dynamo Kyiv (Eliminated) | 5 | 0 | 1 | 4 | 1 | 9 | −8 | 1 |
The Spanish outfit will be up against the German champions and they will be under pressure to pick up a win away from home.
If Barcelona drop points against the German outfit, Benfica could overtake them in the table with a win over Dynamo Kyiv.
Therefore both Spanish teams will be under pressure to pick up all three points here and it remains to be seen whether they can step up and get the job done.
