Benzema caught on tape plotting against Real Madrid teammate

Karim Benzema-Real Madrid

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema urged his teammate Ferland Mendy to refrain from passing to Vinicius Jr during the game against Gladbach last night.

The French striker was on video during half time telling Mendy that the Brazilian attacker is playing against Real Madrid.

Such an accusation from an experienced teammate like Benzema could have a devastating effect on Vinicius Jr’s morale at Real Madrid. It will be interesting to see how Real Madrid deal with this situation.

The Brazilian attacker is a world-class talent who has a big future ahead of him. Real Madrid cannot afford to lose him right now, and they will have to find a way for the two players to sort out the issue between themselves.

Benzema has been left out of the French international side for quite some time now because of his controversial comments in the past and his remarks against Vinicius Jr yesterday seemed very unprofessional.

A player of his calibre and experience should be helping young attackers like Vinicius settle in at a club like Real Madrid. Instead, he was seen urging his teammates not to pass to the young Brazilian.

As per reports, Benzema told Mendy: “Brother don’t play to him. On my mother’s life. He is playing against us.”

Real Madrid ended up drawing the game 2-2 after a couple of late goals from Karim Benzema and Casemiro. They were quite poor throughout the ninety minutes and were lucky to get something out of the game.
