FC Porto picked up a stunning 2-1 win over Juventus in the Champions League knockout rounds earlier tonight.

The Portuguese outfit have now picked up a superb home advantage and it will be interesting to see if they can replicate this performance in Turin now.

Juventus were the favourites heading into this game and Andrea Pirlo will be disappointed with his team’s display tonight.

However, the tie is far from over and the Italian side have a crucial away goal in the bag.

Mehdi Taremi scored the opening goal of the game in the second minute and his strike partner Moussa Marega doubled the home side’s advantage in the 46th minute.

Porto started the game brightly and controlled the first half without any problems.

Their direct style of football caused all sorts of problems for the Italian giants and they needed a lot of time to adapt to the home team’s intensity.

The Italians got back into the game during the second half after a couple of changes from Pirlo.

The likes of Aaron Ramsey were brought on to give the away side more control in the midfield and that resulted in Federico Chiesa’s goal on the 82nd minute. The winger was set up by Rabiot.

It will be interesting to see if Juventus can turn the tie around at home in the second leg and book their place in the quarter-finals of the competition now.

Given the quality of the squad, they are one of the few clubs expected to go all the way in the competition this season and the players will be under pressure to prove their worth in the second leg.
