Venue: Ibrox Stadium (Glasgow)

Key Statistics

Rangers have lost just five of their last 33 home matches in Europe (W21, D7).

They have netted 2+ goals in each of their last five games at Ibrox in this competition (W4, D1).

They have just one clean sheet in ten competitive matches.

RB Leipzig have not lost in the Europa League this season (W3, D2).

The visitors have progressed from three of the four previous UEFA ties in which they claimed a home victory in the first leg.

They have lost just one of their last nine away games (W8).

Leipzig have scored at least once in all 11 of their European matches this season (24 in total).

Rangers

After a 1-0 loss in the first leg in Germany, Rangers have work to do in this year’s UEFA Europa League semi-final as they look to secure a first European final appearance since 2008.

The hosts have been impressive this season, despite losing their grip on the Scottish Premiership title with a 1-1 draw with Celtic last weekend.

But in Europe they have been impressive, beating Braga in the last round to book their place in this round after suffering a one-goal deficit in the first leg.

And so, with a one-goal deficit this round, they will fancy their chance of getting the result they require to get to the final. They do have a solid home record in Europe to back up that claim as they have lost only five of their last 33 home matches (W21, D7) in Europe.

They’ll also draw confidence from the fact they’ve netted 2+ goals in each of their last five games at Ibrox in this competition (W4, D1).

Possible Rangers starting line-up

Allan McGregor, James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Leon Balogun, Calvin Bassey, John Lundstram, Glen Kamara, Amad Diallo, Joe Aribo, Ryan Kent, Fashion Sakala.

Injured: Alfredo Morelos, Filip Helander, Ianis Hagi, Nnamdi Ofoborh

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None

RB Leipzig

RB Leipzig will look to get back to winning ways when they travel to Glasgow on Thursday.

The German Bundesliga side were beaten for the second consecutive game in the Bundesliga last Monday, losing 3-1 to Borussia Monchengladbach. The result means that their chance of finishing in the top four is now out of their hands with Freiburg now replacing them in the top four in Bundesliga with just two more games to play.

And so, they will now be even more desperate to win this trophy as it offers them a direct route to the UCL next season.

Despite their recent wobbles, they remain a solid side and have the enviable record of not losing in the Europa League this season since joining from the UCL.

They have won eight of their last nine away games in all competitions and will fancy their chances of winning at the Ibrox after beating Atalanta 2-0 away from home in the last round.

Possible RB Leipzig starting line-up

Peter Gulacsi, Benjamin Henrichs, Nordi Mukiele, Josko Gvardiol, Marcel Halstenberg, Konrad Laimer, Dani Olmo, Christopher Nkunku, Dominik Szoboszlai, Emil Forsberg, Andre Silva

Injured: Amadou Haidara

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None
