Goals from Bruno Peres and Marash Kumbulla inspire a come back win against Young Boys.

Roma’s Europa League campaign is underway with a thrilling 2-1 win against Young Boys at Wankdorf Stadium.

The visitors fielded a playing 11 completely different to the game against Benevento, giving chances to Borja Mayoral and Pau Lopez for the first time this season.

However, Roma found themselves at the receiving end when Young Boys went 1-0 up in the board. the hosts were awarded a penalty for a foul by Bryan Cristante and Jean Pierre Nsame converted it successfully.

In return, Carles Perez and Pedro, the Spanish duo, had their chances to level termed, but to little or no effect.

Roma found the equaliser in the final quarter through the help of substitutes. Bruno Peres found the nets after getting assisted by Edin Dzeko.

Minutes later, a revived Paul Fonseca’s side found the winning goal when the centre-back Marash Kumbulla netted his header from the set-piece of Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The Armenian had the chance to triple the lead before he blew it up from a counter-attack started from Leanardo Spinazzola.

The win makes it two in a row for Giallorossi after their emphatic 5-2 win against Benevento in Serie A. Both the games induced a come back from Roma and they were successful eventually.

Kumbulla, who is currently on loan from Verona, scored his first for Roma, having made three Serie A appearances this season.
