Barca open to selling Griezmann

Barcelona are reportedly open to selling star forward Antoine Griezmann as they are looking to ease the financial issues.

The French World cup winner joined the Blaugrana from Atletico Madrid in a whopping 120m euros transfer but has since struggled for consistency. Besides, he is also a top earner among the Blaugrana roster.

It has also been added that Griezmann’s departure would help Barca overcome financial loss and also generate funds for the contract extension of Lionel Messi.

The former Atletico star has been linked with a move to Manchester City of late as Pep Guardiola is seeking alternatives for top target Harry Kane.

Not only Griezmann, Barca are also looking to offload several other players – who are deemed surplus to requirements – this summer.

Barca can’t register new signings after exceeding the salary cap limit

The Blaugrana have hit a stumbling block as they reportedly can’t register new signings Eric Garcia, Memphis Depay, Sergio Aguero and Emerson Royal to the first team due to salary cap concerns.

Barca are said to have exceeded the new salary cap limit of La Liga and would still have to reduce their wage bill by 200m euros to pave the way for new signings. The issue is also preventing the club from extending Lionel Messi’s contract.

Barca have recently sold Konrad, Junior Firpo and Jean Clair Todibo but are expected to do more in order to get rid of the deep financial crisis.
