Hungary

For the first time in their history, Hungary lost an opening European Championship match when they lost 3-0 to Portugal in their opening match.

The match saw them concede all three goals in the closing ten minutes of the game, which ended an eleven-game unbeaten run.

With their place in the European Championship now under threat because of a big deficit in their goal difference, they will look to at least avoid a defeat to give them a fighting chance of going into the next round.

However, they are the least ranked team in the group of death and will need a miracle to progress out of this group.

But with the Puskas Arena expected to be filled with a capacity crowd, most of whom will be supporting Hungary, Marco Rossi’s side can hope to give them something to cheer about.

Possible line-ups

Peter Gulacsi, Adam Lang, Willi Orban, Attila Szalai, Gergo Lovrencsics, Laszlo Kleinheisler, Adam Nagy, David Siger, Attila Fiola, Adam Szalai, Nemanja Nikolic.

France

France proved their ‘favourites’ tag was no mistake with a masterclass display against Germany in their opening game.

The World Cup holders only won one-nil, but in truth, they could have scored even more had they taken all their chances.

They remain one of the toughest teams around and are expected to win this group. A win here will set them on the path to doing so.

However, with a match with Portugal still to play, they will look to make the most of their match with Hungary and improve on their goal difference.

Les Bleus head into this on a run of five consecutive wins, a period that also saw them go without conceding a goal. Anything less than a win will be considered as a surprise, given the quality of France side.

Possible line-ups

Hugo Lloris; Benjamin Pavard, Raphael Varane, Presnel Kimpembe, Lucas Hernandez; N’Golo Kante, Paul Pogba, Adrien Rabiot; Antoine Griezmann; Kylian Mbappe, Karim Benzema.
