Arsenal bad-boy Matteo Guendouzi agrees on personal terms with Ligue 1 outfit Marseille after loan terms with Hertha Berlin.

Matteo Guendouzi-Hertha Berlin

Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi is closing in on a permanent move to Marseille this summer.

According to reports, the young midfielder has already agreed on personal terms with the French outfit.

Guendouzi was out on loan at Hertha Berlin this past season, and the 22-year-old has not played for Arsenal since June 2020.

The youngster had a fallout with manager Mikel Arteta before leaving on loan, and it was evident that he would have no future at the London club.

He was seen grabbing Brighton striker Neal Maupay’s throat during a Premier League match, and his antics on the training ground left Arteta frustrated.

The permanent move away from Arsenal is ideal for all parties, and Guendouzi will be looking to resurrect his career with a move to France now.

There is no doubt that the 22-year-old is a massive talent who has a big future ahead of him, but he will have to curb his aggression and sort out his attitude if he wants to succeed at the highest level.

Apparently, Marseille are now discussing a fee with Arsenal for the French midfielder, and it will be interesting to see if the two sides can finalise an agreement soon.

Guendouzi will be hoping to play regular first-team football once his move to Marseille is sorted.

Regular game time will be crucial to his development, and it remains to be seen how his future unfolds at the French club once the transfer goes through.
